The Fragrance Materials Association's (FMA) Sixth Annual Reception and Dinner was held Wednesday, April 23 at The Atrium Country Club in West Orange, NJ. During the cocktail hour, perfume critic for The New York Times Chandler Burr signed copies of his new book: The Perfect Scent: A Year Inside the Perfume Industry in Paris and New York (Henry Holt and Co.).
The FMA honored Damas (Demi) Thoman, former president of consumer fragrance, Americas for Quest International (currently Givaudan) with the 2008 Eric Bruell Distinguished Service Award for his many years of service to the industry. Peter Cadby, vice president, corporate product safety and regulatory affairs, Firmenich Inc., received the FMA’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
