Achim Daub, president, scent & care at Symrise, is set to speak on the role of artificial intelligence in fragrance creation at the AI Everything summit in Dubai.
The international summit—this year taking place April 30-May 1, 2019—focuses on the role of artificial intelligence in government, business, social enterprises and the creative economy.
Daub will discuss Philyra, Symrise’s artificial nose created in partnership with IBM Research. Two fragrances created with the technology and developed for Brazilian beauty company O’Boticario are slated to hit shelves in mid-2019. “We intend to use artificial intelligence to expand and sharpen our global presence in perfumery, thereby reinforcing our leading role and enhancing our fragrance expertise,” said Daub.
Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president & prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, AI Everything is hosted by the National Program for Artificial Intelligence, and was launched by the minister of state for artificial intelligence. It is dedicated to initiatives, collaborations, partnerships and breakthroughs in the field.
