Society of Flavor Chemists Announces Scholarship Winners

The Society of Flavor Chemists has announced the recipients of the 2019 Jougue Scholarship and 2019 Jaggard Memorial Scholarship.

Zhuzhu Wang, a Ph.D. student working for Keith Cadwallader, Ph.D., at the University of Illinois—Urbanna-Champaign, is the recipient of the 2019 Jougue Scholarship.

The $3,000 award recognizes graduate students enrolled full-time in a degree program specifically related to the flavor industry. Wang was recognized for her project on the effects of ethanol on flavor perception of distilled spirits.

Brianne Linne received the 2019 Jaggard Memorial Scholarship. Linne is a Ph.D. student working for Devin Peterson, Ph.D., and Chris Simon, Ph.D., of Ohio State University; her project is entitled “The Characterization of Body in Coffee: A Tactile Approach.”

The Jaggard Memorial Scholarship awards $3,000 to graduate students enrolled full-time in a degree program specifically related to the flavor industry, particularly analytical chemistry.
