The Monell Chemical Senses Center (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) has signed $1 million in leadership challenge gifts from board members Richard Berkman and Dwight Riskey. The gifts, made in honor of Monell director emeritus Gary Beauchamp will support new faculty recruitment in the areas of nutrition, taste and olfaction.
Robert Margolskee assumed the directorship at Monell on October 1 (read more about Margolskee's appointment in the upcoming December 2014 issue of P&F) and made the gift announcement shortly after a board vote on October 27, when he formally confirmed his position as the center’s president.
