The International Organization of the Flavor Industry (IOFI), following the implementation of its new organizational structure, has added new positions and adjusted the responsibilities of several staff members.
Thierry Cachet was named to the newly approved position of regulatory and advocacy director. In this role, he will focus on strengthening IOFI support for the organization's current and future membership while coordinating the regulatory and advocacy efforts of IOFI with its members.
Melanie Marchant as regulatory manager will continue to have the primary responsibility for tracking regulatory developments on flavorings and informing the membership on regulatory approvals including managing the Global Reference List and the IOFI database. Marchant will report to Cachet.
Sean Taylor has joined the IOFI staff as scientific director while continuing his position as a principal in Verto Solutions, IOFI's primary scientific management provider. In consultation with the IOFI Science Board, he will be responsible for the update, implementation and continuous review of the IOFI Science Board strategy and IOFI's science program.
In addition to his continued responsibilities for EFFA, Jan Demyttenaere has joined the scientific staff of IOFI on a half-time basis as scientific manager to provide needed support in Brussels. He will report to Taylor on his IOFI activities.
