Disclosed in this patent is fragrance composition containing (3S)-(6E)-2,3-dihydrofarnesal; specifically, that having a chemical purity of 90% mass or more, and an optical purity of 50% e.e. or more.
According to the inventors, the composition containing (3S)-(6E)-2,3-dihydrofarnesal is capable of imparting a muguet-like floral feeling to a fragrance composition. The invention further relates to the use of the (3S)-(6E)-2,3-dihydrofarnesal in a composition.
