Lifestyle company Sowvital announced its latest collaboration with Scentmate by dsm-firmenich: a hand cream collection that combines fine fragrance with skincare and encourages olfactory layering.

The brand’s press release defines olfactory layering as the combination of two or more distinct fragrances on the skin to create a new, personal scent. Consumer research shows that shoppers are seeking products that allow them to experiment with their “olfactory identity” by mixing creams, oils or mists.

The hand cream collection from Sowvital and Scentmate is inspired by orchard fruits and garden harvests. Further, the two companies worked with fragrance consultant Isabelle van Ingen to develop the collection. The collaboration combines high-quality skin hydration with fine perfumery fragrances.

“Our goal is to craft fragrances that do more than smell good – they transport you,” said Siomara López, fragrance development manager at Scentmate by dsm-firmenich. “We want each scent to take you straight to a sun-drenched orchard, where you’re picking ripe fruit with your own hands. It’s a fully immersive sensory experience that connects you to a moment, a memory, a feeling.”

Isabelle van Ingen added, “These fragrances redefine the skincare ritual. Here, the sense of smell takes center stage. The fragrance isn’t an afterthought; it’s the core of the experience. You choose a texture or formula not just for what it does to your skin, but for how it makes you feel. It’s a value-driven strategy rooted in olfactory sensoriality, turning everyday care into a moment of conscious pleasure.”
