The global hair perfume market is expected to grow from $13.4 billion to $24.2 billion over the next ten years, according to a new report from Future Market Insights. This represents a compound annual growth rate of 6.1% over the forecast period.

Hair perfumes are increasing in popularity among consumers for their multi-functional benefits, long-lasting fragrance and skin-friendly ingredients. The report also notes that social media has had a significant impact on the market’s growth.

“The hair perfume market is witnessing significant growth, driven by increasing consumer  preference for specialized hair care products that combine fragrance with hair-conditioning benefits,” the report states. “Rising awareness about personal grooming and the growing influence of social media have encouraged the adoption of hair perfumes as an essential part of beauty routines.”

According to the market forecast, the hair perfume market will experience early-phase acceleration from 2025 to 2030, largely due to increasing demand. The growth will then slow down slightly, with the projected CAGR at 5.8% from 2030 to 2035. The deceleration is attributed to market maturation as the initial surge of demand stabilizes.

“The overall CAGR of 6.1% reflects strong, consistent growth across the period, underpinned by rising consumer interest in premium hair fragrance products.”

Broken down by scent, the floral fragrance segment accounts for approximately one-third of the hair perfume market, followed by citrus, fruity and woody scents. Further, medium-sized packaging, between 25 and 50 ml, makes up 41.7% of the market by capacity.

China, India France, the United Kingdom and the United States are expected to lead the way in growth for the market. The report notes that China is expected to lead the market with a projected CAGR of 8.2%, largely due to rising disposable income and the country’s growing personal care sector.

“Consumers in China are increasingly seeking luxury and personalized experiences, driving the adoption of high-quality hair perfumes,” the report says. “The expanding retail networks and e-commerce platforms make these products more accessible to a broader consumer base.”
