P&G Takes Steps Towards Smart Home

P&G has launched Febreze Connect, a wi-fi-connected wall plug that releases one of two scents into consumer's homes through a smartphone app.

In an effort to connect home devices with technology, Febreze Connect is equipped with motion sensors, LED lights and a temperature and humidity sensor. The motion sensor also initiates a night light, while the air freshener integrates with Nest thermostats where scents are emitted simultaneously with HVAC air flow for optimal fragrance coverage in a room.
