Perfumer & Flavorist+ (P&F+) started the year off with a few F&F travel experiences throughout the United States! First, I, alongside my trusted companion and P&F+ associate publisher Paige Crist, took a trip to the Bronx, New York, to visit Delbia Do Flavors & Fragrances and had a chat with P&F+ advisory board member and perfumer Darryl Do. His strategy to prepare for the World Perfumery Congress 2024 (WPC) this summer?

"I'll be doing a little bit of research because there may be companies there that haven't exhibited before that I definitely want to hit. Even people I know have surprises in store or are hosting an interactive booth or showcasing never-before-seen material. It's always fun to see the existing companies and what they're pitching which makes perfumers feel like a kid in a candy store."

In early February, I attended the American Cleaning Institute's Annual Convention (ACI) in Orlando, Florida. This was a first for P&F+ and I was so excited to explore the use of fragrance technologies in cleaning, home care and laundry care products. I also got to experience the Charity Duck Race, which was quite the spectacle and enjoyed by all for a good cause. Readers can find a recap of our first-ever visit to the ACI Convention on page 26 of the April issue.
Just a week later, Crist and I were back on the move to New Orleans, Louisianna, for the Alcohol Flavor Forum jointly hosted by The Society of Flavor Chemists (SFC), National Association of Flavors and Food-Ingredient Systems (NAFFS) and Chemical Sources Association (CSA). I was asked to moderate the Sazerac R&D team panel, digging into the brand's relationship with flavor houses and formulations.
