NAFFS Winter Meeting Offers a Taste of “Innovation in Craft Beers"

The National Association of Flavors and Food-Ingredient Systems (NAFFS) will hold its winter meeting from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19 at The Dog & Cask, 55 State Route 17 South in Rochelle Park, N.J.

This audience-participation program will explore the aromatic qualities brewed with different hop varietals. Attendees will learn some of the newer beer styles complimented by tastings and gain a better understanding of flavor formation during the brewing process.

Mike Babb, Kalsec Hops Fellow, will cover the role of flavor additions in the commercial brewing industry. Polly Barrett, director of applied flavors R&D and sensory sciences at Kalsec, will lead the audience through the evolution of a trained beer panel.

The program will conclude with a customized menu at lunch which will showcase the ingredients that complement the various beer pairings. Meeting registration is $125 for members of NAFFS ($175 for non-members) which includes the full program, tastings, lunch and pairings.
