Esarom, an Austrian supplier of flavors and ingredients, is currently expanding one of its production facilities set to be completed by the end of summer 2023. With a new expanded powder mixing plant, the company will add up further capacities in producing active ingredients such as powder compounds, stabilizers and flavors.

The facility will cover an area of approximately 450 square meters designed along the company's logistic center, also hosting 1,400 square meters of dry storage, a refrigerated warehouse, a shipping zone and offices. The technologies are said to be partially automated, enabling high-performance and flexible programming.

The expansion adds up to the adjoining “House of Taste” including sensory, labs, pilot plants and workspace for customer live developments for beverage, confectionary and ice cream innovations.

Michael Kornberger, CEO at Esarom, shared, “It is predicted that energy drinks will grow by 7% per year till 2028 worldwide – the highest growth rate within the non-alcoholic beverage category. Our country is famous for the success story of energy drinks and its ingredients made in Austria are very popular around the globe. We are developing a high amount of individual energy drink recipes every year – flavor and active ingredients are the key. The next logical step was to enlarge the production volume of our powder blends in order to serve the growing energy drink market.”

Stephan Mölls, COO at Esarom, added, “This step is a milestone in our company growth journey. We have monitored the existing tools and implemented the latest technologies. Introducing these new technological advancements in our portfolio makes us more effective and well-prepared for future market needs.”
