Creating a forum for the exchange for ideas, experiences and data, in November, Symrise (Holzminden, Germany) gathered its perfumers for a conference in Oman to initiate a global network among them, with more than 50 perfumers from 14 countries on five continents in attendance. The location of Oman was deliberately chosen for its history involving blossoms, spices and essential oils, and the event was hosted by Achim Daub, global president of the scent and care division of Symrise, and his international team of Thomas Dressler, global head of innovation and creation; Beatrice Favre-Bulle, senior vice president of fragrance development, household and personal care; and Beatrice Mouleyre, senior vice president of fine fragrance creation.

The conference allowed participants to be introduced to each other—and each other’s data—as well as share insights, exchanging project ideas and developing new ideas for the global marketplace through the creation of these bonds. This forum will be an ongoing connection effort from Symrise to help bring its perfumers and their ideas together. Presentations at the conference included information on news and interesting notes about fragrances today, Arabic scents, the relevance of new innovations and networks, and a tour of an Omani perfumery.
