WPC Special Update: Symrise Introduces New Ingredients

The World Perfumery Congress (WPC) has invited the industry to the French coastal town of Deauville from June 10-11 to hear about the latest developments in fragrance and Symrise is participating and presenting multi-faceted aromatic substances at its booth.

Symrise (Stand #301) will introduce:

  • Ambrocenide Cryst—a powerful ambery, warm woody aroma molecule that has the crystalline quality of Ambrocenide, a classic.
  • Mysore Acetate—woody, floral, violet and fruity notes make this raw material a good companion for fragrance creations. The soft and warm woody characteristics of Mysore Acetate blend very harmoniously with almost every fragrance concept. It underlines fruit notes and provides body and vibrancy to violetlike floral creations.
  • Poivrol—a spicy choice among the aromatic components from Symrise with aromatic, pepper, laurel leaf and woody notes. Poivrol adds zest to creations and offers pulsating and sensational effects.
  • Vetival—offers woody, vetiver, citrus and floral notes. Its multifaceted odor profile reaches from a radiant, grapefruity top note to a soft iononic-floralcy to warm, woody, vetiver elements. With its diversity, power and stability Vetival is attractive for a broad range of applications and fragrance types.

WPC panel discussions:

Torsten Kulke, VP global innovation, fragrances and oral care at Symrise, will speak on June 12 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. during the WPC panel discussion: "Ingredients for a Sustainable Future."

He will discuss with his colleagues the latest insights on the developments of sustainable fragrances and technologies, and the ways in which sustainability needs will continue to impact the perfumer’s palette.

“I am excited to speak about our thoughts and findings on the influence of sustainability on our industry," says Kulke. “Also, I am curious to exchange with my colleagues about the opportunities that lie ahead of us.”

Emilie Coppermann, a perfumer at Symrise, will participate in WPC's "Perfumery Roundtable" on June 12 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., which is a panel discussion about the perfumers' changing roles, their creative process and the future of perfumery. Coppermann has created many award-winning fragrances for Symrise. In 2012, she was awarded the Prix Lalique of the French Centre du Luxe et de la Création.
