Women in Flavor & Fragrance Commerce (WFFC) has officially announced the 2014 WFFC scholarship award recipients.
Sarah Warth is the 2014 recipient of the Rita Flynn Memorial Fragrance Scholarship Award. She is enrolled in a dual master’s program, one for business and management at the University of Padua, Italy, the other for science and technology at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France. Demonstrating her passion for the art of fragrance creation, Warth took unpaid internships at both Givaudan and IFF.
Christine Akoh is the 2014 recipient of the WFFC Flavor Scholarship Award. She is currently in her second year earning a doctoral degree in human nutrition at Cornell University. The WFFC said that in addition to Akoh's noteworthy academic records, her research in adolescent human nutrition has set her apart from other applicants. Her long-term goal is to help millions of malnourished and undernourished people worldwide.
The WFFC has given out three additional scholarship awards to Emily Ball (nutrition studies - University of Minnesota), Renee Lalonde (food science - Kansas State University) and Joanna Godyla (cosmetics and fragrance marketing- Fashion Institute of Technology) citing their high academic achievements as well as overall contributions to their communities and the flavor and fragrance industry.
