Copperhead Sandalwood is the first Indian sandalwood supplier in Australia to be awarded a Climate Active Organisation certification for its carbon-neutral business operations.
Climate Active is a government-backed program that enables businesses to measure, reduce and legitimately offset carbon emissions.
According to a release, to offset its emissions from business operations, Copperhead has invested in two carbon offset projects including the Moolakar Human-Induced Regeneration Project and the Merepah Fire Project.
Samudra Sarubin, Copperhead's chief operating officer said, "We are not strangers to growing trees, but, as part of our sustainability commitment, it was important for us to accurately measure, evaluate and offset the carbon emissions associated with running our operations. Climate Active is a leader in the realm of carbon-neutral certification, and, with certification from this program, we hope to do our best by the planet and community and give our customers peace of mind that our operations are as environmentally friendly as possible."
