Fragrance house Puig announced the launch of Colonias Absolutas Puig, a collection of four signature fragrances that represent a tribute to the company’s origins.
Puig was founded in 1914 in Barcelona by Antonio Puig Castelló and launched its first fragrance in 1940. The house’s portfolio of brands includes Rabanne, Carolina Herrera, Charlotte Tilbury, Jean Paul Gaultier and more.
According to the house’s press release, the Colonias Absolutas Puig collection draws inspiration from the landscapes and culture of the Mediterranean region.
“Colonias Absolutas Puig is an elevated exercise in perfumery and creativity,” said vice chairman and third generation Manuel Puig.
The collection was crafted by master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena. Ellena said that he used classic Mediterranean ingredients to embody the house’s philosophy of combining creativity, craftsmanship and respect for raw materials.
“When they ask me if I am from Grasse, I say I am from the Mediterranean,” Ellena said. “That culture has its own aroma, one we can wear.”
The Colonias Absolutas Puig collection is available for purchase on Puig’s website.
