L’Occitane en Provence Debuts Osmanthus Fragrance Line

L’Occitane en Provence has launched its Osmanthus fragrance range, now available at duty-free stores and the company’s counters throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Givaudan perfumers Marypierre Julien and Michel Girard collaborated with L’Occitane en Provence to create the Osmanthus fragrance. The top notes of apricot, pear and bitter orange are balanced by the heart notes of Osmanthus, carrot seed oil and mahonial, while cedarwood and sandalwood add to the blend.

The product range offers floral and feminine scents and is available as a 75 ml eau de toilette and 250 ml shower gel and body lotion. The range also comes in travel sizes, comprising 250 ml shower gel and body lotion and 30 ml hand cream, a kit of five assorted 30 ml hand creams and a collection of 75 ml shower gel and body lotion and 30 ml hand cream.

Manually harvested in the forests of Guilin by a local producer, three-day-old Osmanthus blooms are gathered from September through October and macerated in brine for a period of two to three months. Following distillation, the Osmanthus essence is extracted, with 900 kilos of flowers required to create one kilo of Osmanthus absolute, and 450 flowers to produce a 75 ml bottle of eau de toilette.

In tandem with the rollout of the new Osmanthus fragrance range in Travel Retail APAC, a captivating H5 interactive mobile web game enables customers to find out more about the cultivation of Osmanthus and how L’occitane strives to respect and support biodiversity in its product development.

The game is accessible via social media or at L’Occitane en Provence Travel Retail APAC counters. For customers who complete the game, a gift with purchase is offered with any two products bought from the Osmanthus range.
