Kerry has officially opened its first manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania, a new coffee extraction site in Bethlehem designed to expand production capacity and bring advanced processing capabilities closer to North American customers.

Opened Sept. 30, 2026, the facility features independent hot and cold brew extraction lines and advanced extraction and concentration technologies to develop natural coffee flavor profiles for applications ranging from ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages and alcoholic drinks to ice cream and savory sauces.

The investment, first announced in September 2025, comes as demand for premium coffee reaches new highs. According to the National Coffee Association data cited by Kerry, 48% of U.S. adults drank specialty coffee in the past day, surpassing traditional coffee at 39%.

The facility also introduces production capabilities designed to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Its high-Brix concentrates, ranging from 23 to 30 Brix, enable ambient shipping and reduce the need to transport water or rely on refrigerated alternatives.

Kerry reports carbon reductions of 61% when using Direct Concentrated Fresh beans, 40% compared with competitor conventional coffee offerings and 34% versus refrigerated Brix products.

The expansion-ready site will use sustainably sourced natural ingredients aligned with USDA Organic, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance and Café Femenino standards, supporting Kerry's broader sustainability and ethical sourcing commitments.

For Kerry, the Bethlehem investment adds production flexibility and positions its coffee business to serve growing demand for premium, shelf-stable coffee ingredients across beverage, foodservice and broader food applications.
