In early January 2024 Mane announced its inaugural Capture What Moves Photography Competition. The company recently announced the four winners of various categories.

The theme of the competition was capturing the emotions generated by the senses of smell and taste. This contest was open to young graduates of art and photography schools.

Winners

Grand Prize & Fragrance Category Prize: Camille & Charlotte won for their series of still lifes entitled De Nectar et de Pulpes. The jury noted the meticulous aesthetics and the successful balance between reality and emotion of their three series of dreamy still lifes offering a sensory journey.

As winners of the Grand Prize, the duo was awarded the commission for the photo shoot of Mane’s next corporate campaign.

Flavor Category Prize: Justine Gabriel, a photographer from Marseille, France, who graduated in 2019 from Gobelins School in Paris, France, won this category with her series entitled Identity, which showcases ingredients with intriguing lighting effects and close-ups of raw materials. Justine uses these techniques to create an “ID photo” of living substances to stimulate the senses and tempt the observer to touch the textures.

Nature Category Prize: Mélody Brugère was recognized for her series entitled Immersion Florale. Deeply poetic photographs made the invisible visible, which truly touched the hearts of the jury members.

Mélody turned to photography after initially pursuing a scientific curriculum, which now permeates her artistic vision. After graduating from École des Beaux arts in Aix-en-Provence, France, in June 2019, she draws her inspiration from the worlds of biology and cinema, blending science with fiction.
