Flavorists, get your education started early with this first-come first-served pre-FlavorconĀ session on Monday, October 7! This session will take attendees on a guided tour through a lineup of organoleptic materials with the help of Bell Flavor & Fragrances principal flavorist, Cyndie Lipka, and junior flavorist Michael Morrison as well as a second session featuring independent flavorist and āFlavor Bitesā columnist, John Wright andĀ PepsiCo junior flavorist Giuseppe Bongiorno. This session has an additional fee and lunch is included ($100 total)!
Attendees will be split into two groups, first attending a 45-minute session with one of the flavorists and then swapping to join a 45-minute session with the other.Ā Don't miss your opportunity to crowdsource possible applications with fellow flavorists! John Wright, Independent Flavorist/Author
John Wright has worked as a flavorist for over 30 years, initially with Duckworths and PFW in the UK, then Bush Boake Allen in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States before joining IFF's US operation. He is currently an independent consultant and the author of the technical book "Flavor Creation" and the monthly "Flavor Bites" column in Perfumer & Flavorist magazine. Wright progressed into technical and general management, but has always been enthusiastic to retain an active creative role in flavors. Wright is a fellow of both the Royal Society of Chemistry and British Society of Flavourists, and a member of the Society of Flavor Chemists, Inc.

Giuseppe Bongiorno, Associate Principal Scientist, Junior Flavorist at PepsiCo
Giuseppe Bongiorno is an Associate Principal Scientist and Junior Flavorist at PepsiCo, where he works on Innovation and Technical Brand Stewardship Projects. Bongiorno received his Masters of Engineering at the Lehigh University College of Business. Brands/Platforms: Energy and Hydration (Rockstar, Bubly, Aquafina).

Cyndie Lipka, Principal Flavorist at Bell Flavors and Fragrances
Cyndie Lipka is a principal flavorist at Bell Flavors and Fragrances. She has been in the flavor industry for 28 years. Lipka has been an active industry member beginning with the Chemical Sources Association(CSA). She has held the presidency twice for this organization. She then joined the Society of Flavor Chemists board. Lipka has served on the Women in Flavor and Fragrances Board (WFFC)Chicago Chapter. She finds herself back on the CSA Board currently. Awards include the OF Stambaugh Chemistry Alumni Award from Elizabethtown College in 2014 which is a Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2017 she received the WFFC Flavorist of the Year Award.
Michael Morrison, Flavorist at Bell Flavors & Fragrances
Michael Morrison is a junior flavorist at Bell Flavors & Fragrances. In this role, Morrison supports flavor projects and create innovative flavor profiles for Bellās customers. The junior flavorist achieved his flavor apprentice status, as defined by the Society of Flavor Chemists, in October 2022, spending the last six years training at a global flavor and fragrance company. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science & Technology and a minor in Chemistry from Oregon State University.
