IFF is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its accredited master’s-level program in scent design and creation, developed in partnership with ISIPCA, the globally recognized school for careers in perfume, cosmetics and flavor. Since its launch in 2016, the program has trained more than 180 professionals from 40 countries, producing 130 graduates and maintaining a 100% job placement rate within six months of completion.
Designed as a gateway into the fragrance industry, the program combines IFF’s 135-year legacy in scent creation with ISIPCA’s academic expertise, offering training across fragrance development, marketing, sales and perfumery creation. The initiative has broadened access to the field by selecting candidates based on olfactory talent and academic potential rather than requiring a scientific background.
Valery Claude, senior vice president of digital for IFF Scent and program sponsor, highlighted the program’s role in building a diverse pipeline of fragrance professionals equipped with creative and technical expertise. ISIPCA’s general director Nicolas Salado noted that graduates are now fully integrated across the global fragrance ecosystem, reflecting the program’s industry-wide impact.
As the program enters its second decade, IFF emphasizes its continued commitment to education, knowledge transfer and innovation as essential pillars for advancing the future of fragrance creation.
