McCormick Ranks Highly in 2019 Global 100 Sustainability Index

McCormick & Company, Incorporated (McCormick) was named the 13th most sustainable corporation—and the most sustainable corporation in the food industry—on the 2019 Global 100 Sustainability Index.

The company climbed 10 spots from its 2018 rankings. “This is the highest ranking we have achieved since our debut on the list in 2017 and I'm proud of this recognition of McCormick’s continued commitment to global sustainability and transparency,” said Lawrence Kurzius, chairman, president and CEO.

McCormick’s sustainability efforts include a public commitment to 100% plastic packaging that can be reused, recycled or repurposed by 2025; the sustainable sourcing of ingredients; to improve the resilience and map the contributions of small farmers, women in particular; and to reduce the company’s environmental impact by lowering its carbon footprint and reducing solid waste.

Released at the World Economic Forum by Corporate Knights, the Global 100 Index evaluates companies with a gross minimum revenue of $1 billion (FY 2018) on 21 key performance indicators, including resource management, employee management, financial management, clean revenue and supplier performance.
