Kalsec is continuing to increase its presence in China with the appointment of two new managers and the addition of a new applications lab in Shanghai.
The company said it will officially open its newest application laboratory in May 2013 at the Kalsec facility in Shanghai. It says the laboratory is equipped with the latest in food processing capabilities and will allow Kalsec to work closely with regional customers on concept and formulation development.
Chris Simons, formerly commercial manager of Kalsec Europe, will be the new country manager in China relocating from the U.K. to Shanghai. Simons has been with Kalsec since 2007 and has been managing various aspects of the Kalsec China business for the past three years. Meanwhile, Wei Sun, Kalsec's former country manager, has taken an appointment with Beijing Zhongbai as one of its company partners.
In addition, Louis Rao was appointed to the role of product applications manager Kalsec China. Rao joins Kalsec having worked previously at Unilever, Kraft and Nestle.
