Belmay Announces Six Appointments

Belmay has named Daniel Grewe president of the U.S. division of Belmay, Inc. His current responsibilities include executive management of sales, regulatory, evaluation, marketing and creative perfumery. Grewe currently serves as a member of Belmay’s advisory board, and is a member of Society of Cosmetic Chemists and co-chair of a subcommittee for the National Candle Association. 

Steven Semoff has been appointed vice president, technical director. He is responsible for direct oversight of Belmay’s laboratories and quality department. Semoff previously held positions with International Flavors & Fragrances, Givaudan-Roure and the Scent Marketing Institute. He is also a member of the American Chemical Society and Society of Cosmetic Chemists.

Senior perfumer Steven Claisse has been named corporate senior vice president of creative development. He has more than 35 years of industry experience, holding positions at Alpine, Robertet, Felton and Manheimer; he has been with Belmay since 2007. Claisse is responsible for oversight of all activities in creative perfumery and has executive oversight for analytical, applications and new technology. He has served twice as president of the American Society of Perfumers.

John Wallace has been appointed vice president, sales, North America (United States and Canada). He has more than 14 years of fragrance industry experience and previously held positions with Quest, Mane and Fragrance Resources.

Joyce Hildebrandt has been named vice president of evaluation and marketing. She is responsible for leading and overseeing all of Belmay’s marketing initiatives and evaluation procedures. Hildebrandt previously held positions with Takasago and is a member of Cosmetic Executive Women.

Matt Meehan has been appointed senior technical manager, overseeing the applications laboratory and initiatives. He previously held positions with Mane, International Flavors & Fragrances and Bush Boake Allen. Meehan is also a member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists.
