Syensqo has launched Jaguar Care, a natural-origin, non-microplastic polymer designed to give laundry formulators a way to combine fragrance deposition, softness and fabric care in a single formulation.
Based on Syensqo’s guar technology, Jaguar Care is engineered to improve the deposition of both fragrance oils and fragrance capsules onto fabrics, supporting longer-lasting scent performance after laundering. The polymer also delivers a softening effect and is designed to maintain performance under short and cold wash cycles, addressing increasingly common low-temperature and time-saving laundry routines.
Beyond sensorial benefits, Jaguar Care is positioned as a fabric-care technology. The polymer helps protect fibers from pilling, repair fuzz and improve garment durability through repeated washing, giving formulators an opportunity to extend the care proposition beyond cleaning and fragrance.
The combination could be particularly relevant to 2-in-1 laundry products, where detergent performance is paired with fabric-care benefits. Rather than relying on separate product steps, formulators can use the polymer to build multiple consumer-facing benefits into a convenient laundry format.
From a sustainability standpoint, Syensqo identifies Jaguar Care as a non-microplastic polymer with a Natural Origin Index of 0.78, calculated according to ISO 16128:2. The natural-origin positioning gives formulators another option for developing laundry products that address both performance and ingredient-profile considerations.
The technology is aimed at a consumer landscape in which long-lasting fragrance, softness, convenience and clothing longevity increasingly overlap. By combining deposition and fabric-care functions, Jaguar Care gives formulators a technical platform for developing laundry products designed not only to clean garments, but also to help preserve their sensory and visual qualities over repeated wash cycles.
