In Spate's 2024 Holiday Trends Report, the platform has highlighted evolving trends and opportunities for brands in the beauty, fragrance and food/beverage market. In terms of predicted fragrance trends, Spate pinned vanilla body mist as the star for holiday trends for this year.

In terms of top search queries volume "vanilla body mist" tops the charts followed by "vanilla chai shimmer mist the body shop," "happy nation vanilla body mist," "vanilla chai body mist," and finally "pacifica island vanilla hair and body mist."

Spate shares, "The trend of vanilla body mist is characterized by very low volume and low competition, yet maintaining an upward growth trajectory. The search for ingredients like bourbon and sugar alongside vanilla body mist offers opportunity for variations in this fragrance experience. Brands can differentiate themselves with body mists combining vanilla with other scents for a unique and indulgent experience."

With a spike in wellness and functional ingredients, Spate has also tracked an uptrend in body cleansing oil.

The platform shares, "The body cleansing oil trend occupies a space with very low volume and competition, but shows a consistent upward growth trajectory. Top queries indicate a variety of consumers seeking cleansing oil products for the body. Top searched benefits such as cleansing, nourishing, or hydrating emphasize consumers’ desire to take care of their body in the shower. Brands should use this information and design offerings that answer a growing need for a product that originally belonged to the skincare world, cleansing oil."

Lisa Guerrera, co-founder and CEO of Experiment adds, "Body cleansing oil is growing, and while they've been around for a long time, I think that when it comes to body care, consumers are looking at the same buzzwords that they're looking at for their face. We may not see double cleansing for the body become mainstream yet, but brands could start positioning their body cleansing oils that way, highlighting the idea that double cleansing offers the same thorough yet gentle care for the body as it does for the face."
