Open Position: Marketing Specialist

Bell Flavors & Fragrances is hiring a full-time marketing specialist located in Northbrook, IL, USA. The marketing specialist is responsible for designing, creating and delivering marketing programs to support the expansion and growth of Bell’s services and products. Their role will be an integral part of the development and execution of marketing plans to reach targets from brand awareness to product promotion. The specialist will work with the Development & Application labs to construct presentations for our top A-target customers. The specifications for these presentations should be determined collaboratively between Sales, R&D and customer ideas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to find answers about consumer requirements, habits and trends.
  • Brainstorm and develop ideas for creative marketing campaigns.
  • Assist in outbound or inbound marketing activities by demonstrating expertise in various areas (content development and optimization, advertising, events planning, etc.).
  • Liaise with external vendors to execute promotional events and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with marketing and other professionals to coordinate brand awareness and marketing efforts.
  • Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels (social media, e-mail, etc.).
  • Assist in analyzing marketing data to help shape future marketing strategies.
  • Manage layouts and designing of communications such as presentations, newsletters, event support materials, research papers and brochures.
  • Promote trade shows, events as well as advertising campaigns.
  • Meet with sales and marketing representatives to talk about communication needs. Participate in marketing and sales team as a member.
  • Review marketing projects that are assigned, previous marketing materials which are used in assignment area and gathering materials about competitive companies in their field.
  • Develop and coordinate multimedia packages like brochures, letters, purchase displays, video and so on for specific assignments.
  • Develop direct programs related to mails and monitoring rolls of the campaign and ensure success levels at conclusion.
  • Travel to customer presentations when assigned to present marketing information.
  • Travel to and assist with conferences and tradeshows when required and authorized.
  • This position is not classified as a supervisor.

Education, Training and Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in marketing, communications or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated success using social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) to market and brand a firm or a division of a firm.
  • Website development and search engine optimization preferred.
  • Demonstrate experience in marketing data analytics and tools.
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Office, marketing software.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements

  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills including demonstration skills to handle many assignments simultaneously.
  • Efficiently work under pressures, deadlines and stretch extra hours to complete assigned task.

Open Position: Marketing Communication & Social Media Specialist

Bell Flavors & Fragrances is hiring a full-time marketing communication and social media specialist located in Northbrook, IL, USA. The marketing communication and social media specialist is responsible for organizing and managing the communication and social media initiatives for the marketing team and overall company. They will be the main point of contact for all marketing projects, marketing communications and social media activity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the marketing director and support the marketing team with marketing communication and other marketing and customer-specific activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, customers and vendors in support of all marketing needs.
  • Lead tracking of marketing projects through the Bell global project management system.
  • Subject matter expert for uploading marketing materials to online libraries, internet, digital asset management tool (BellHub) and social media sites.
  • Acts as communication lead for marketing responding to questions and requests for information.
  • Communicate and coordinate with global Bell marketing personnel on key initiatives and maintains quarterly global marketing meetings, recaps and global marketing calendar.
  • Assist in developing internal and external marketing communication like e-campaigns, press releases and other documents.
  • Manage advertising including print, digital and press relations.
  • Responsible for tradeshow management and support including assistance with booth design, execution and setup/take down as needed.
  • This position is not classified as a supervisor.

Social Media Responsibilities

  • Manages branding and develops strong online communities through our digital and social media platforms, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • Maximizes social media traffic through the implementation of outreach campaigns and manages weekly posts relaying industry updates, trends and company changes.
  • Works with marketing director and team to set corporate social media strategy.
  • Develops, maintains and communicates key KPI’s across organization including customer engagement, social media and marketing activity.
  • Proactively engages in responding to feedback on all social media outlets.
  • Participates in all companywide activities and events to develop internal/external communications focusing on employees, corporate responsibility, sustainability, etc.
  • Cultivates innovative and effective strategies that increase positive company branding, thought leadership and overall social media presence.

Education, Training and Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in digital/social media, communications or marketing.
  • 1-3 years’ experience working in marketing, PR, social/digital marketing or communications.
  • Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and comfortable with Adobe Suite.

  • Exemplary customers service skills with the proven ability to resolve issues.
  • Ability to effectively problem-solve.
  • Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency.

  • Experience writing/editing for promotional emails, social media and blog posts, advertisement and website copy, or other communications materials.
  • Ability to be both self-directed and work well as part of a team.
  • Ability to complete multiple assignments with competing deadlines.
