[video] Building a More Inclusive Beauty Industry

BASF and StitchCrew recently launched the Inclusive Beauty Accelerator, a learning and business platform for early-stage companies creating innovative, inclusive products.

Selected participants received a $10,000 non-dilutive grant and gain hands-on coaching from leading beauty and personal care executives.

At the end of the program, participants had the opportunity to showcase their products to consumer packaged goods (CPG) investors, StitchCrew and BASF extended networks.

The move was part of a larger initiative from BASF, which treats beauty-for-all as a business imperative and creates solutions that will bring greater inclusivity to the skin care, hair care and sun protection markets.

Simultaneously, the company continues to address the market demand for high-performing sustainable products.

To get an inside look into how the company embraces entrepreneurs while pursuing new beauty innovation, Global Cosmetic Industry recently sat down with the BASF team and two accelerator participants—Ariane Turner of Look Good Live Well and Shelly Ann Winokur of Kiss Kiss Goodnight—to learn what it takes to build a more inclusive beauty and personal care industry.
