Givaudan (Geneva) has announced the publication of Roman Kaiser’s latest, Scent of the Vanishing Flora, the third book from this author. Biodiversity hotspots that house endangered plant species are the focus of the book, which includes information on vegetation from locales such as Hawaii, the Cape floral kingdom, rainforests in the tropical belt of the world and the European Alps. The book, which is published by Helvetica Chimica Acta Publishers in Zurich and has been endorsed by the Convention on Biological Diversity, part of the United Nations Environment Programme, describes 267 “vanishing flora” species and also summarizes the analytical compositions of the presented scents.
