FONA International (Geneva, IL) has announced that Menzie Tabora has passed the final exam with the Society of Flavor Chemists, earning her the title of certified flavor chemist. This seven-year apprenticeship program involves study of organic chemistry, instrumental analysis, legal/regulatory considerations, organoleptic training, flavor reactions, lab procedures, costing and documentation. Moving forward, Tabora would like to specialize in true-to-fruit fruit flavors and unique blends, as well as increase her skills in exotic and emerging sweet flavors.
