The Art and Olfaction Awards (AOA) are gearing up to host its 10th edition in 2024. The AOA are designed to raise interest and awareness for independent perfumers, artisan perfumers, and experimental practitioners with scent on an international scale.
For 2024's edition of the Art and Olfaction Awards, the process starts with submissions (https://thegoldenpears.com/submissions). Submissions for the tenth awards are open between December 1-December 31, 2023. This year’s awards are open to perfumers and projects that came to market (or are coming to market) between January 1 and December 31, 2023.
For 2024, AOA is adding a new category, the Newcomer Award, which will celebrate perfumes from companies that first launched in 2023. This category joins nine others including the Artisan Award, the Independent Award, the Sadakichi Award for Experimental Work with Scent, the Aftel Award for Handmade Perfume, the Septimus Piesse Visionary Award and the Contribution to Scent Culture Award.
The finalists for the awards will be announced on April 19, 2024, in Los Angeles. The winners will be announced at the 10th Art and Olfaction Awards in early June in an event in Lisbon, Portugal. More information will be shared as the event nears.
