Today, you will get to know Jac Ward (@platinumhairguy). He is a 24-year-old stylist at Beauty School Salon in Nashville, Tennessee.
Q&A:
Beauty Launchpad (BLP): What is a fun fact about you?
Jac Ward (JW): In another life, I probably would have been a fashion designer. I love all things beauty- and fashion-related. You’re able to show so much personality through hair, makeup and fashion!
BLP: What is your proudest accomplishment?
JW: I’m extremely proud to have worked as hard as I have to create the life I dreamt of as a kid. Growing up originally in a small town, I was always told that being a hairstylist was a low income hobby, but I’ve created a long lasting career that I’m passionate about and love every minute of.
BLP: What is your current favorite hair trend?
JW: My favorite trend currently is the fact that no rules apply. I love the mixing of different eras to create a fun and modern look.
BLP: What is a hair tip you have for your fellow stylists?
JW: Embrace the hair journey! No matter how experienced you are, there can always be surprises with clients and their hair, so always set expectations, be honest and have fun.
BLP: What do you love about your work?
JW: I customize every head of hair I work on. I believe in giving everyone hair that’s uniquely theirs, and I love creating and evolving the looks I create for my guests.
BLP: What motivates you about the industry you are in?
JW: I’m constantly motivated by the creative side of the industry. Hair is a canvas, and I’m an artist who loves to paint!
BLP: What is a professional goal you have for yourself?
JW: I would love to work with brands to help develop and tweak products and color lines. I’ve dabbled with so many different products and lines that I love the idea of helping create new and improved items.
