IFRA-UK’s Annual Fragrance Forum returns Thursday, October 17, 2024, at The Royal Institution (21 Albemarle Street, London, W1S 4BS). 

At this year’s Fragrance Forum, attendees will be hearing from a range of speakers who have been researching these links in-depth, showcasing the impact on our lives the everyday signals our bodies give and the influence it can have on human behavior.

Sessions and Speakers

  • Professor Ilona Croy, Ph.D., (Institut für Psychologie, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena) session: "You smell great - Deciphering Olfactory Communication in Humans"
  • Tristram Wyatt, Ph.D., (University of Oxford): "Chemo-signaling and pheromones in animals and what it could mean for humans"
  • Professor Perdita Barran (Manchester University) will update attendees on the work she has been doing with ‘super smeller’ Joy Milne who could smell her husband’s Parkinson’s Disease. They have worked closely together over the last few years to identify the particular molecules that give Parkinson’s its smell and she will be giving us an update on how that has helped develop ways to spot the disease.
  • Interactive drinks reception with professor Barry C. Smith, the director of the Institute of Philosophy at the Center for the Study of the Senses.
