DSM will showcase its new guide, “House of Naturals,” at in-cosmetics Latin America.
“House of Naturals” offers a complete directory to the company’s portfolio of natural, organic and sustainable ingredients, as well as clear information on natural certifications.
The company reviewed its entire personal care range according to certifications including COSMOS and NATRUE. It recently introduced ISO 16128 standard on definitions for natural ingredients and used this information to develop a new icon system for its naturals portfolio.
“House of Naturals” provides customers with clarity regarding the degree of natural origin in different ingredients and production processes, as well as guidance on certifications and regulations for natural products.
Ingredients included in the guide must have a natural origin score of 60% or above. More than 45% of the portfolio (55 ingredients) is of natural origin, and more than 70% of skin care actives have a natural origin content above 90%.
“DSM is committed to providing transparent information about its ingredients,” said Rishabh Pande, vice president, marketing and innovation, personal care and aroma. “We welcome the clarity that the new ISO 16128 standard provides but believe it could go even further. We have therefore joined forces with industry representatives and the European body the FEBEA to compile a report that will offer new insights into the technical aspects of this standard.”
DSM will present at booth #D50 at in-cosmetics Brazil, which will take place Sept. 19-20, 2018 in São Paulo.
