RIFM Holding Webinar on Lung Deposition Modeling

The Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM) is holding a webinar on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, titled “Lung Deposition and Dosimetry with Multiple Path Particle Deposition (MPPD) Modeling” to be presented by RIFM respiratory science program manager Mandhuri Singal.

The focus of the webinar will be a lung dosimetry/deposition modeling software known as Multiple Path Particle Deposition, or MPPD, developed by the RIFM respiratory program in conjunction with Applied Research Associates. The software is a computational method for determining how a material will be inhaled and deposited in either, or both, the upper and lower respiratory tract. The model will allow for a look at the behavior of materials in the respiratory system and help determine if any further testing needs to be conducted.

During the webinar, the respiratory science program staff will demonstrate the model’s capabilities and provide a short tutorial. Subsequently, the model will be available to RIFM members in a downloadable format on the RIFM website.

Register for the webinar through RIFM's Online Store.
