α-Damascone (FEMA# 4088, CAS# 24720-09-0) is also known as (E)-1-(2,6,6-trimethyl-2-cyclohexen-1-yl)-2-buten-1-one, 1-(2,6,6-trimethyl-2-cyclohexen-1-yl)-2-buten-1-one, dorinone-α and dihydro floriffone-α. Taste and odor characters include fruity, floral, rose, apple, blackcurrant and mint notes. Suggested applications include fine fragrance, personal care, fabric care and home care. Recommended use level: traces to 1.1%.
