This natural Indian origin Spearmint Oil (FEMA# 3032, CAS # 8008-79-5, EC # 283-656-2) is obtained by steam distillation of flowering tops of the spearmint (Mentha spicata) plant. Its primary constituent is L-Carvone which gives spearmint its distinctive odor.
