Penta Fine Ingredients

Tolu balsam extract (FEMA# 3069) and resin (FEMA# 3070) from Penta Fine Ingredients are rediscovered classics offering a rich, sweet, warm balsamic profile with distinctive cinnamon and vanilla facets and exceptional tenacity. With a long history in both flavor and fragrance, tolu balsam has been used in cola, root beer, and confectionery flavor systems, and can be used to impart notes of caramel, spice and vanilla. The duo is often used as an amber fixative in fine and personal-care fragrance and can add depth and longevity to amber and gourmand accords. Tolu balsam offers a versatile natural balsamic character and a compelling less-restrictive compliant alternative to other traditional balsamic materials. Its character comes from cinnamein, a natural mixture of benzyl benzoate and benzyl cinnamate as well as free cinnamic and benzoic acids and trace vanillin, farnesol and triterpenoids.
