Symrise introduced its new center in Mumbai to strengthen the company’s scent and personal care division and to aid the current Chennai creative center in the India and Asia Pacific region. The facility will be home to a development lab for both fragrances and cosmetic ingredients.

“We have been a part of India's growth story for more than two decades now and we are delighted to further strengthen this relationship with the inauguration of the creative center, said Heinz-Jürgen Bertram, Ph.D., CEO of Symrise. “In 2016, we achieved growth of 15% in developing markets. Over the medium term, we want to secure a share of sales of over 50%. We’re working at full speed on innovation in these markets and on further developing our infrastructure on a continuous basis.”

“This investment in our new integrated creation and development center underlines our commitment to high growth markets such as India,” added Achim Daub, president of Symrise scent and care segment and member of the Symrise board. “Together with our R&D testing and production facility in Chennai, we are perfectly equipped to support our customers in their ambition to delight the Indian consumer.”
