Scientists have developed a perfume that is activated by sweat, according to a recent study first published online in the journal Chemical Communications.

Nimal Gunaratne and a team from the Queen's University Belfast Ionic Liquid Laboratories Research Center created a fragrance in which "stable liquid and solid salts in the form of elusive hemiacetals, appended with fragrant alcohols, have been synthesised as pro-fragrances, and the controlled release of these fragrances, triggered by water."
