Coffee and tea continue to be popular among global consumers, with half purchasing hot coffee in the past year and a third of global consumers purchasing hot tea in the past, according to Innova Market Insights*.

Coffee Trends

Brown flavors are dominating the hot coffee segment, including coffee, chocolate and caramel.

Non-brown flavors are also growing, with nuts, vanilla, fruits, spices and seeds becoming increasingly popular. 

Fruit flavors have experienced significant growth, driven by the increased use of berries and summer fruits.

Tea Trends

Fruit flavors lead the flavors among blended tea making up 28% of new tea launches.

Citrus and berries/summer fruits are the primary drivers for the growth in fruit flavors.

Spices and seeds flavors make up 16% of new product launches, with ginger taking the top spot among these flavors. Cinnamon and licorice have also experienced growth.

Botanical teas has also seen an increase, making up 16% of new tea product launches.
