The European Flavour Association (EFFA) has revealed the Flavour of Europe Gin, as part of the association's latest project.
In 2021, the EFFA established a group of flavor ambassadors to create a flavor that represents all of Europe, with its differences and similarities. Three distinct flavors were created: Northern and Eastern European berries, vanilla and rose for the central notes and citrus for the Mediterranean touch.
The next phase was include three flavors and collaborate with Belgian distillery Spirits by Design to create Flavour of Europe Gin (also available in a non-alcoholic version). The Flavour of Europe gin and tonic cocktail will be served at future EFFA events.
Steve Pearce, EFFA flavor ambassador, who led the team that developed the Flavour of Europe, said, "It was a pleasure and an honor to work with such talented flavorists from across Europe, celebrating their collective talent and showcasing the remarkable diversity and interconnectedness of European flavors. With Spirits by Design's added know-how, we can now raise our glasses to a truly European drink."
