Brenntag has named Karsten Beckmann, currently COO of Brenntag Europe, to the role of CEO of Brenntag Europe, Middle East and Africa.
In this position he succeeds Harry van Baarlen who is retiring as CEO of Brenntag Europe after 18 years of working with the company. Beckmann reports to Steven Holland, CEO Brenntag Group.
"Over the past years at the helm of European leadership as COO, Karsten demonstrated professional excellence and will continue to navigate the region safely and effectively in challenging times to accomplish continued growth for Brenntag in Europe," said Holland.
Beckmann started his career in the chemical industry. Following different roles in the corporate head office of Stinnes AG, Brenntag's former parent company, he joined Brenntag in 2002 as managing director of Brenntag Italy. He became regional manager Southern Europe in 2009. In 2011, he was appointed COO of Brenntag Europe and Africa.
