International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF) announced it has appointed Francisco Fortanet as its senior vice president of operations, effective immediately. In this new role, Fortanet will be responsibilities for IFF’s global operations ranging from procurement through outbound logistics, and he will be based in IFF’s Hilversum, The Netherlands facility.
“Francisco’s deep institutional and manufacturing knowledge, experience in both the flavors and fragrances businesses, and substantial international experience makes him well-suited for his new role,” said IFF chairman and CEO Doug Tough. “He will continue to bring tremendous value to IFF by ensuring that the operational elements of our business support our strategic efforts in the emerging markets, innovation and the overall profitability improvement of our portfolio.”
Fortanet began his career with IFF in 1995, as a plant manager in Mexico. He has since served the company in a variety of roles, most recently as vice president, global manufacturing compounding. Earlier roles included regional director of North America operations, project manager in Ireland, and plant manager in Hazlet, New Jersey.
He holds a degree in industrial and systems engineering from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
