ACI Names New General Counsel

The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) has named Joanne Thelmo as its new general counsel and vice president. Thelmo, an attorney whose career includes experience in nonprofit, corporate and government arenas, has held positions such as general counsel and senior vice president at the National Community Pharmacists Association, senior business affairs attorney at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and associate general counsel at Conservation International. “Joanne Thelmo brings to the table broad and deep knowledge, experience and proficiency that will greatly serve ACI and its membership,” said Ernie Rosenberg, ACI president and CEO.

As ACI’s chief legal officer, Thelmo will be a member of the senior management group and oversee all association corporate governance and related legal activities, serve as the primary liaison to members of ACI’s legal committee, and provide legal guidance to the association and its members on relevant laws, regulations and court decisions as well as serve as corporate secretary.
