International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF) is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year.
Beginning with the founding of Polak & Schwarz on January 27, 1889 in Zutphen, the Netherlands, the 1958 merger with van Ameringen-Haebler formed IFF in New York.
"We are a company of passionate, creative, expert and empowered people," said Doug Tough, IFF's chairman and CEO. "As we look through our long history, we see exemplars of these core corporate values in our people since our inception. Our employees continue to drive our success by creating exceptional products and providing superior service. But we also share this milestone with our customers, partners and shareholders. We have survived, and indeed, thrived, for 125 years because of our mutual success with these important stakeholders."
The company is acknowledging the anniversary year with the launch of a commemorative logo that reflects IFF's significant legacy, designed by an employee based in Singapore. IFF's board of directors will start the formal celebrations at an event in IFF's creative center in Hilversum, the Netherlands. This will be followed by a series of activities for the balance of the year.
