Gains in North America, Asia Boost Sensient 2010 Flavor and Fragrance Sales

Sensient Technologies (Milwaukee) has reported that its Indianapolis-based flavor and fragrance group grew its fourth quarter and full-year 2010 revenue by 5.2% and 4.7% year-over year, respectively, totaling $206.1 million and $809.1 million. The division's operating income declined slightly year-over-year in the fourth quarter and full year, totaling $29,440 and $121,997, respectively. Consolidated revenue for the fourth quarter and full year totaled $339.3 million and $1,328,180, respectively.

Flavor and fragrance groups sales resulted from fourth quarter volume gains in "traditional flavors and dehydrated flavors" in North America, raw material cost savings in the second half of the year, and record results in Asia-Pacific and China where revenues grew 28% to $113.2 million (2009: $88.4 million).

"This was an outstanding year for the company," said Kenneth Manning, chairman and CEO of Sensient Technologies Corp. "We achieved record results because of the commitment to our strategy, and we continue to see excellent opportunities for growth."
