Protopapadakis and Papanikolaou (1998) examined the cold-pressed peel oils of four cultivars (Chania, Brazil, Keen and Bittersweet) of bitter orange grown in Crete (Greece). The components identified in these oils can be seen in T-1. Although the use of fast HPLC methods is not generally very useful in essential oil analysis, because of the occurrence of non-volatile oxygen hetrocyclic compounds in citrus oils an interesting niche for this technique has been found by Bonaccorsi et al. (1999).
