The Fragrance Foundation Arabia will hold the first annual FiFi Awards for the United Arab Emirates on October 27.
"Today the fragrance industry in the region is growing faster than in other parts of the world," noted chairman Shahzad Haider, "and we have also noticed that oriental perfumes are adapting their products to suit the global markets. On the other hand, there is an exponential increase in international brands of fragrances and retail houses in the region because of the sheer demand and keen interest of the multinational brands within the Middle Eastern market. Due to an increase in demand locally, it is therefore imperative to create a consensus to regulate the fragrance industry, and to have access to an industry body that provides information on global trends."
